No public ‘Namaz’: Urge DC Biswajit Pegu

On Thursday, the Kamrup Metro district held a meeting with the district administration to request all the Idgah committee members of Kamrup Metro to avoid mass prayers during the upcoming Eid-ul-Adha or Bakra Eid festival at Idgah or Mosques amidst the COVID scare in the state.

Addressing the media Deputy Commissioner, Kamrup Metro, Biswajit Pegu said, “The COVID situation in the state hasn’t normalized yet. So, we urged the Idgah committee members of Kamrup metro to strictly adhere to COVID protocols while celebrating Bakra Eid. We have instructed them to avoid mass prayers at Idgah or mosques during Eid celebrations.”

The administration further urged the people of Kamrup metro to offer ‘namaz’ in their respective homes on coming Wednesday.
