The weekly cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma was held on Monday. Many important decisions were taken in today’s cabinet meeting. Minister Pijush Hazarika addressed the press conference soon after the cabinet meeting.
What was decided in the Cabinet meeting?
There will be no Revenue Town in Assam from today. Earlier a place without the Municipal board was considered as Revenue Town. Land premium had to be paid in those places. There will be no provision for that from now on.
The town and peripheral area will remain at the district headquarters. This will not result in the payment of land premium.
A trade license is not required under Village Panchayat. A trade license will be required in terms of Mobile towers, Domestic and Foreign wine, Educational Institutions, Pollution emitting industries, Brick factories, Nursing homes.
There have to register online for health and environment for the safety of workers. Annual health check-ups of workers above 40 years of age must be provided. ID cards are a must.
All this has to be decided by the industry authorities. A committee of workers and authority must be constituted in an industry with over 100 workers.
The cabinet decided to use EVM in the GMC elections. Increase in budget outlay from Rs 200 to Rs 2000 to the transparency fund.
