Amid the increase in the number of COVID-19 cases in Mizoram, the state government has imposed an eight-day complete lockdown in the Aizawl Municipal Corporation area. The lockdown came into effect from 4.30 AM on Tuesday and will continue till 4.30 AM of November 3.
The decision of the lockdown in Aizawl was made in an emergency meeting attended by Mizoram‘s Health Minister R.Lalthangliana and Home Minister Pu Lalchamliana.
“An emergency meeting under the chairmanship of Health Minister and Home Minister held today at MINECO decided to impose lockdown within the AMC area, after obtaining due consent from the Chief Minister. The lockdown will begin at 4:30 am tomorrow till 4:30 am on 3rd Nov 2020,”
the State Information and Public Relations department wrote on Twitter.

The COVID-19 tally in Mizoram stands at 2,527, out of which 2,212 people have recovered from the virus. Presently, there a total of 305 active cases in the state. The state has not reported any casualties yet.
