Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma on Thursday assured that the government is committed to set up entry-exit points to strengthen the influx check mechanism of the state.
During a discussion in the assembly led by legislator Mayralbon Syiem, Sangma announced that the registration process for entry point will start soon this year.
The work for construction of the Facilitation Centre at Umling has already started and from the very beginning, priority is given to setting up the entry point.
Earlier, the Meghalaya government on March 13 conveyed administrative approval and an amount of Rs. 15.92 crores were sanctioned for the construction of the facilitation center (entry point) at Umling.
The Chief Minister also announced that the facilitation center at Medipathar Railway Station in North Garo Hills will be completed by December 2020.
