North-East Democratic Alliance (NEDA) convenor and Assam Health and Finance Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma on Tuesday said that the consultative meet on the Naga issue called by Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio on October 15 will be extremely important.
Notably, Sarma stated that both the Government of India and the Naga negotiators know each other’s position by now.
Sarma while hinting that the integration of Naga contiguous areas is not a possibility, said that the Northeastern states would not have any problems with the final solution.
Earlier, The Nagaland government had called for a consultative meeting with the stakeholders on October 15 in Kohima.
The state government in a statement stated that it is calling for a consultative meeting of all the stakeholders to discuss the Naga political issue and the on-going peace talks between the Naga national political organizations and the government of India.
