A critical border visit programme is being planned in order to resolve the border dispute between Assam and Arunachal Pradesh. Regional committees and authorities from Arunachal Pradesh’s Kamle district and Assam’s Lakhimpur district will inspect the border areas between the two states at the Boginadi forest area.
According to the formal schedule, both sides’ officials will begin the day by touring the Boginadi forest area. Following that, the parties will travel to Rajali and view the government facilities at Rajal, Midpu, Kherbari, Bomte, and Tanio. Later, the parties will visit the Indian Air Force Firing Range and the tri-junction of the IAF’s Rajgarh road and Rajali village.
As part of their excursion to the area, they will also see the Dollung Subansiri river confluence. Later in the day, both parties will meet in the NHPC conference hall to review the joint survey results before wrapping up the day’s activities.
Both states are undertaking border visits in accordance with the Namsai Declaration. The Namsai Declaration, aimed at resolving the decades-old boundary dispute between the two neighbouring states, was signed on July 15 by the Chief Ministers of Arunachal Pradesh and Assam.
