Hardcore Hynniewtrep National Liberation Council (HNLC) cadre – Junel Tongper laid down his arms at a surrender ceremony before the Border Security Force (BSF) in Meghalaya on Thursday.
The ceremony was held at Umkiang Border Out Post (BOP) in East Jaintia Hills district of Meghalaya.
BSF Meghalaya Frontier Inspector General – Inderjit Singh Rana was present at the surrender ceremony.
“It is a big blow to militancy in Meghalaya,” BSF Meghalaya Frontier IG – Inderjit Singh Rana said.
