Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports Kiren Rijiju on Monday inaugurated the Sports Authority of India (SAI) Training Centre at North Eastern Hill University (NEHU) campus, Shillong, Meghalaya.
The training centre consists of a football ground and an athletic track and is built to develop the sports infrastructure across the state. Speaking on the inauguration of the sports centre, the minister stated that creating sporting infrastructure at the grass-root level is a step towards creating a robust sports ecosystem in the country, working towards achieving sporting excellence in the long run.
