In a swift and well planned joint operation executed by the Indian army and Assam Rifles at the outskirts of Naharkatia, one of the main arms & ammunition supplier of NSCN- K in the Assam-Nagaland border areas, Sajid Ali resident of Namti Charali, was apprehended along with weapon & live ammunitions from the Abhaipuria Gaon, Joypur.
The operation was based on confirmed input that the individual was moving towards Naharkatia to deliver arms & ammunition to someone, thus resulted falling into the trap of Security forces, which was a result of relentless pursuit over the past 2 months.
Not only is he the pivotal person involved in the smuggling of arms & ammunition, he is also involved in providing assistance to the cadres and various illegal activities for NSCN- K in the border areas of Assam & Nagaland.
The apprehended insurgent and recoveries were handed over to Naharkatia Police for further investigation.
