Assam Rifles on Wednesday impounded about 72 kg of Brown Sugar from Kamu village of Thoubal district in Manipur.
Based on a tip-off an operation was conducted by the security forces and was assisted by the Manipur Police and was successful in seizing a large consignment of drugs from a hideout. The operation was done on intervening nights of November 10 and 11 and three bags containing about 72 kg of Brown Sugar were recovered.
The estimated market value of the recovered Brown Sugar is over Rs. 287 crore.
Taking to Twitter, Assam Rifles informed, “A successful joint operation by #AssamRifles and Manipur Police on intervening night of 10 and 11 Nov led to recovery of 72 kg of Brown Sugar (worth approx. INR 287 Crores) from a hideout in Kamu village of Thoubal District.”
