The government of Manipur has imposed fresh COVID restrictions in the state in the wake of two people testing positive for the Omicron strain in the state.
In an order issued on Wednesday, the state government banned all kinds of music concerts which are popular at the year-end and New Year celebrations. In addition, the performance of folk dance of Thabal Chongba has also been barred.
The order issued by Manipur Chief Secretary, Rajesh Kumar further stated that celebratory feasts and large gatherings in enclosed areas and indoor halls are to be avoided.
Night curfew has also been imposed in the state from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m. till January 31, 2022.
The order also made wearing of masks compulsory in state imposing strict punishment against violators.
