The first Northeast Aero Sports Hot Air Balloon & Para Motors Fiesta will be held in Manipur from February 11 to 17, 2023.
SkyFunzy, a division of Khasia Ventures Pvt. Ltd., is organising the event. Ltd., in partnership with Capt. Imochaoba Singh.
Capt. Singh holds the DGCA’s first Hot Air Balloon pilot licence, as well as the DGCA’s first flight instructor rating holder in India and the only trainer for the Indian Army and Navy.
Govindas Konthoujam, Manipur’s sports minister, stated that organising such festivals would not only benefit the tourism department financially, but would also significantly improve the sports culture in this category. According to the minister, the fiesta will bring many foreign athletes to Manipur, thereby increasing the state’s tourism potential.
During the seven-day event, spectators will be able to watch a mass ascent of five balloons and five paramotors, skydiving shows, and numerous other flights.
Furthermore, there will be over 200,000 visitors and over 10 million online viewers. The festival will take place in the same iconic location as in Northeast India.
“This fiesta would empower youth with an opportunity to participate in aero sports. Through Northeast Aero Sports Hot Air Balloon & Para Motors Fiesta, young people will be able to choose a future career in aero sports and other extreme and adventurous sports,” said Khasia Ventures Private Limited’s MD.
Furthermore, the influx of tourists during the event will benefit Manipur Tourism greatly.
“We hope to pique the interest of our young people, encourage them to participate in such activities, and inspire them to choose this field as a future career,” said Konthoujam, the sports minister.

The fiesta will include twice-daily mass ascents of balloons from a ballooning arena in the centre of the event site. Because ballooning is weather dependent, the chief pilot makes the decision to fly. Balloon Tethering will keep all patrons high up for the majority of the day, giving them a bird’s eye view of Loktak Lake and the surrounding area.
The event also includes Para Motoring, a balloon appearance in the area by an expert team of pilots over Loktak Lake throughout the weekend.
The event will also include two magical nightglows, in which the balloons will light up to music provided by Manipur’s Fusion Music.
Throughout the weekend, there is entertainment at the Northeast Aero Sports Hot Air Balloons & Para Motors Fiesta Arena.
Find a spot around the ballooning arena to watch daily displays, stunts, and tethering, or venture out to explore the food and beverage stalls, 100 traders, and activities from across the northeast for families and children of all ages. Every evening, an acoustic bandstand (Rock-Show) will be packed with local bands at the event.
School students can enter between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Every ride will be half the price, including the entry fee.
