Northeast Frontier Railway issued a statement after a video of personnel mishandling packages at the Guwahati station went viral. The video, which has gone viral on social media, shows numerous personnel at the railway station unloading the train’s cargo. However, the manner in which the items were handled has generated various concerns among netizens. Twitter users voiced their anger in the comments section of Bhupender’s video. It has nearly 2 million views.

Several staff at the station can be seen unloading the parcels in the popular footage. Hundreds of these parcels are being hurled off the train. These packages are handled with extreme carelessness. The person who published the footage on Twitter accused the railways for not treating the packages with care.

“See how well railways treat your parcels. It is at Guwahati Railway Station. Time is 2030 hrs on 24th Mar 22 and the train is New Delhi Dibrugarh Rajdhani Express(12424). The parcels are from all retailers like Amazon,Flipkart etc,” the user added.

The video triggered a series of consequences. “Shame on Indian Railways… Hope these jokers are identified and punished,”  a user stated.

“See how well the railway treats your parcel. Bcoz of this many times customers get broken products and experience difficulties. Please see this,” another user said. Northeast Frontier Railway, on the other hand, stressed that this is an old video and that the people handling shipments are representatives of the concerned party, not railway staff.

“This is an old video from March 2022. Rajdhani Express at Guwahati Station. The persons handling parcels are representatives of the concerned party. Railways offers booking of parcel space on contract basis to various parties,”  Northeast Frontier Railway tweeted.
