One Lakh Tourists Visited Sikkim After Boundaries Were Opened for Outsiders

After being shut for tourist for about 7 months due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Sikkim government opened its boundaries for tourists from October 10, 2020.

Ever since then, Sikkim has received nearly one lakh tourists. As per information by the Tourism department as many, as 27608 travel cards have been issued which accounts to 90258 tourists but many tourists have also visited Sikkim without travel card so all together nearly one lakh tourists have visited Sikkim.
