The Manipur government has imposed a night curfew from 6 pm to 4 am in the state as a measure to control the spread of COVID-19.
State Chief Secretary Rajesh Kumar Friday issued the order which stated, “There will be night curfew from 6 pm to 4 am and District Magistrates will issue orders in this regard.”
However, essential services, on-duty officials, and movement of goods will be absolved from the night curfew. Hospitals, nursing homes, clinics, and pharmacies will be exempted from the curfew restrictions.
The size of gathering in social and other ceremonies has been restricted to 20 people. Opening of shops in Thangal and Paona market except wholesale departments will be in the roster system.
The curfew will remain in order till December 31, 2020, until further notice.
In another development, the State Health Department has also announced COVID screening across four districts starting from November 30. The Manipur Health Department has already been conducting targeted testing in constituencies where elections were held on November 7.
