A horrific accident took place at Mariani, Jorhat that had taken lives of three family members. The situation at Mariani has deepened as a Sumo from the neighboring state Nagaland crashed a motor bike. At the Dhoder Ali a mother, her daughter and son-in-law were riding in a motor bike collided with the Tata Sumo. The whole family got killed in the accident.
The Tata Sumo with license plate NL 02 T 2114 was its way from Dimapur in Nagaland when it collided with the Motor bike with the license plate AS 03 Z 5886. The locals of Mariani organised protests against the Sumo driver prompting the Nagaland Government to issue a travel alert warning.
