Petrol prices have gone up because of the Taj Mahal: MP Owaisi

Had Shah Jahan not built the Taj Mahal, people in India might have bought petrol today for Rs 40 per litre! Such remarks by Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi have gained a lot of buzzes when the country’s skyrocketing petrol-diesel price hike has made the people furious.

The AIMIM chief wanted to mock the BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi with such remarks.

The MP criticised Modi and the BJP-led government, “the country’s youth are unemployed. Inflation is rising steadily- diesel is now Rs 102 per litre. Aurangzeb is responsible for all this, not Modi. Akbar is responsible for unemployment problems. Petrol prices have gone up because of the Taj Mahal.” Owaisi added, “If Taj Mahal had not been built, petrol would have been sold for Rs 40 today. I think Shah Jahan made a big mistake by building the Taj Mahal.”

“He had to save all that money. It would have been better if that money had been handed over to Modi in 2014. Then the price of oil would have been low. Now Muslims are blamed for all issues, and Mughals are blamed. Did the Mughals rule the country alone? Didn’t Ashok do it? Didn’t Chandragupta do it? But the BJP sees only the Mughals. They see the Mughals with one eye and Pakistan with the other,” quipped Owaisi.
