Police presence to be reduced as part of Assam Nagaland agreement

In the agreement between Assam and Nagaland, the de-escalation of tension around the Dessoi Valley and Tsurangkong Valley was agreed upon.
The police of both the states will accordingly retract from the tense areas, back to their bases. This is planned for the next 24 hours. Jorhat and Mokokchung SPs will oversee the withdrawal process.

Further monitoring of the area will be done using UAV and satellite imaging.

The agreement was signed by the (designation) of Assam and Nagaland, Mr. J Alam, and Mr. Jishnu Barua.
