Popular media anchor Rohit Sardana passes away

Rohit Sardana, well-known television anchor, passed away on Friday.

Rohit Sardana, well-known television anchor, passed away on Friday. He reportedly died of a heart attack. He had also tested positive for Covid roughly a week before demise.
The untimely death of Sardana came as a major shock to the media community at large.
He was the host of Dangal, a debate show, on Aaj Tak.
He was a senior journalist and one of the most popular Hindi anchors in the country.
According to reports, Rohit had contracted COVID-19 and is unclear whether he had fully recovered.
The journalist was with Zee news for several years, before he joined AajTak in 2017. His most popular show ‘Dangal’ featured debate panels but had also been controversial for its rhetoric. He was awarded the Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthi Puraskar by the Indian government in 2018.
Zee News Editor-in-Chief Sudhir Chaudhary tweeted about his untimely demise.
Sudhir Chaudhary wrote that he never thought the virus would take away someone so close to him. He said he was not prepared for this.
“A short while ago I got a call from Jitendra Sharma. My hands started shaking after hearing what he told me. He gave me the news of our friend and colleague Rohit Sardana’s death. Could’ve never imagined that this virus would take away someone so close to us. I was not ready for this. This is injustice by God. Om Shanti, (sic)” Sudhir Chaudhary tweeted in Hindi.”
Meanwhile, Delhi deputy CM Manish Sisodia wrote, “Shocked and extremely saddened to know about the passing away of senior journalist and my journalism days colleague Rohit Sardana. My deepest condolences to his family. May his soul rest in peace.”
Besides that Senior Journalist Rajdeep Sardesai wrote, “Rohit and I had differing political views but always enjoyed debating without any rancor. We did a show one night that finished at 3 am (think it was SC verdict on Karnataka) after which he said, ‘boss aaj maza aa gaya!’ He was a passionate anchor journalist. RIP Rohit Sardana.”
Bollywood actress Raveena Tondon wrote, “And the Pandemic takes another precious life, everyday, hundreds of precious lives are gone. Absolutely shocked to hear about the tragic demise of senior journalist and anchor Rohit Sardana. Gone too soon”
Manish Mundra wrote, “It’s shocking and that this pain of being in distress for such a long time is so depressing. Each day comes with some bad news. Let’s hold each other and stay strong. Let’s fight this out. Let’s do our best. Om Shanti.
