Assam police have arrested one more person for posting ‘pro-Taliban post on social media. Now the number of people arrested rises to 16.
According to the report, the accused worked at a tyre shop in Jorabat. The accused was arrested for posting and supporting the Taliban takeover over Afghanistan on Facebook.
Recently Assam police have posted a list mentioning 15 people were arrested from across 10 districts in the state for allegedly posting a pro-Taliban post on social media.
The list includes a student of Tezpur Medical College, an Assam Police constable, three maulanas, and also a journalist.
All the accused are booked under sections of UAPA, IT Act, and CrPC.
