Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday released a white paper by the party on the Centre’s Covid 19 management.
He further stated that the purpose of the white paper is to help the country prepare for a possible third wave of coronavirus and not criticise the government.
The former Congress Chief, during a virtual meeting said –
“The whole country knows the third wave of Covid 19 is coming. We urge the government to prepare for it. The aim of this white paper on Covid 19 is not finger-pointing at the government but to help the nation prepare for the third wave of infection.”
“It is our intention to provide the government with information and insights into what went wrong.” Rahul Gandhi further stated.
The idea behind our White Paper report on #COVID19 is to provide insights & information so that avoidable deaths can be prevented in the coming waves.
GOI must work on our constructive inputs in the interest of the country.

Slamming the government for its ‘mismanagement’ of Covid 19 crisis, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi gave few vital key points in his virtual meeting.
Key points from Rahul Gandhi’s speech are –
1. Ninety percent of people who have died could have been saved. The biggest reason for this was the lack of oxygen at the time. PM Narendra Modi’s tears did not save the lives of people but oxygen could have saved them.
2. As the virus is mutating, there might be waves even after the third wave of the Covid 19 pandemic
3. The Government must prepare themselves for the third wave of the Covid 19 pandemic, as it is ‘inevitable’.
4. The management of the first and second wave of Covid was disastrous.
Good work has happened on Monday (highest number of vaccines administered) but this is not a series of events. Government must target to make this process work not just for one day but everyday until we have vaccinated our whole population.

“We’ve tried to point out those reasons in our white paper. This is a blueprint about how to react to the third wave which is going to come,” Rahul Gandhi further stated.
He also urged the government to treat all states equally for Covid 19 vaccinations, asserting that there should be no bias and they should not be viewed as BJP or opposition states.
