The rhino census on the Kaziranga Nationwide Park in Assam’s Golaghat district started from Saturday (March 26). The census has been carried out by the Assam forest division.
The three-day-long rhino census is the 14th of its sort and can happen until March 28.
The Assam Wildlife Division, Bokakhat has determined to shut the nationwide park for vacationers throughout this era.
Whereas morning elephant safari rides has been suspended from March 26 to twenty-eight, jeep safaris rides has been continued in a phased method in order to not hamper the rhino census.
The census has been carried out in 48 compartments throughout the premises of the nationwide park.
A complete of 63 specialists have arrived in Kaziranga to hold out the rhino census.
In line with studies, a staff of officers of the state forest division, specialists and volunteers have participated within the census.
As per the information launched by the Assam Forest Division in 2018, the nationwide park had 1,641 rhinos, of which 793 are females, 642 are males and 206 rhinos’ gender couldn’t be ascertained.
