A group of students from Cotton University on Tuesday night vandalized a restaurant in Hem Baruah Road, Guwahati.
A group of about 50 students started creating ruckus at Dilli 6 BBQ restaurant on Tuesday late at night.
According to a salesman, students from Cotton University came to the restaurant and asked for two bottles of water.
Fight started when the chef replied in Hindi. The students started arguing and asked them to speak in Assamese language. Soon the situation turned hot and students started vandalizing the restaurant. The owner and workers of the restaurant were also beaten.
The owner of the restaurant was seriously injured during the fight and was rushed to Mahendra Mohan Choudhury Hospital, Panbazar.
The miscreants fled the crime scene till the Police arrived. However, they were able to apprehend one of the students.
As per reports, Panbazar Police have registered a case against the group of Cotton University students for vandalizing the restaurant.
Police Department have started investigations into the case and an FIR has been registered.
