After resigning from Indian National Congress(INC) recently, Rupjyoti Kurmi joined the Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP) in the presence of Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma in a program held at Gerukamukh in Dhemaji district on Monday.
Welcoming Rupjyoti Kurmi to the ruling party Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said, “Kurmi’s joining the BJP will make the party stronger in future. I convey my best wishes to him,” adding he said, “Kurmi has always been sincerely working for the development of Mariani LAC and I hope he will continue working for the constituency.”
The program was also attended by Education Minister Dr. Ranoj Pegu, Tea Tribes Welfare Minster Sanjay Kishan, MP Pradan Baruah, MLA, and Political Secretary to the CM Jayanta Malla Baruah, MLAs Naba Kumar Doley and Manab Deka, and a few others.
