Mr. Diganta Bishwa Sharma was officially handed the Sahitya Akademi Translation Award at Rabindra Bhaban in New Delhi last Thursday. Diganta Biswa Sarma received this award from Sahitya Akademi chairman Chandrashekhara Kambara.
Sahitya Akademi had officially announced the names of the 2020 translation awardees on September 18. Diganta Biswa Sarma received the award for translating Sri Aurobindo‘s book titled ‘The Renaissance in India and Other Essays On Indian Culture‘ to Assamese under the name ‘Foundation of Indian Culture.’ Another writer from Assam, Kameshwar Brahma, was also presented with the Sahitya.
