The winners of the Sahitya Akademi Award for the year 2020-21 have been announced.
- Enhancing the beauty of Assamese literature, Apurba Kumar Saikia has won the award for the best short story book ‘Bengsata’.
- On the other hand, Sahitya Akademi Award has been conferred to the late Dharanidhar Owari for his short story book ‘Gwethenay Lamayao Gwdan Agan’ in Bodo language.
- Madhurima Gharphalia has won the ‘Bal Sahitya Puraskar 2020’ for her book titled ‘Phosong’ in Assamese language.
- Ajit Bodo won the award for his Essay book ‘Gothosa Bisomi’ in Bodo language.
- The ‘Sahitya Akademi Yuva Puraskar’ was won by Dwijen Das for his Poetry book ‘Megh-Ghora’ in Assamese language.
- On the other hand, Newton K. Basumatary won the award for his book of poems titled ‘Abwi-Abou Arw Ang’ in Bodo language.
