Assam top cop Kumar Sanjit Krishna, key accused in the Assam Police SI exam paper leak case was told that have been given special treatment at Gauhati Medical College Hospital (GMCH)!
The matter was raised by an advocate Durga Prasad Jaiswal before the Special Court, following which the court ordered an enquiry on May 17, 2021, for special case no 6/2021.
Speaking on the matter Durga Prasad Jaiswal said, “The district jail superintendent had informed the court that there was no communication in regards to the shifting of Kumar Sanjit Krishna from general ward to a paying cabin from GMCH management. Also, the district jail superintendent holds no jurisdiction of bearing the expenses of accused Kumar Sanjit Krishna for the paying cabin.”
Reacting to the allegation on Wednesday, Gauhati Medical College Hospital (GMCH) superintendent Abhijit Sarma in his reply clarified saying, “Kumar Sanjit Krishna was not given any special treatment, however, he was given paying cabin on the recommendation of Dr. PC Kumar, Associate professor of surgery, GMCH under whom he was admitted and a medical board has endorsed the admission in paying cabin.” Adding he said, “He has been admitted to paying cabin on security ground as he was kept in the ward which did not have any barricade resulting in keeping in the under trial person in paying cabin.”
Sarma also mentioned that Kumar Sanjit Krishna is undergoing several health issues, thus, a group of the medical board of doctors is taking care of his health. “While shifting to the paying cabin, I made it sure that the board has to recommend and secondly, a police information has to be submitted which the GMCH had submitted to the Bhangagarh police.”
Furthermore, the GMCH superintendent informed that Kumar Sanjit Krishna himself has paid the advanced payment for the paying cabin.
