State Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Thursday took his first shot of COVID-19 vaccine at Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Assam.
Taking to Twitter, Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal also urged all eligible people to get vaccinated. He also requested the people of Assam to take all precautions to curb the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Took my first shot of #COVID19 vaccine at GMCH.
Vaccines are safe and will help us defeat this pandemic. I urge all eligible persons of the state to get vaccinated and continue following safety precautions.” CM Sarbananda Sonowal wrote.

Earlier in the morning, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also took the second shot of the COVID-19 vaccine at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS).
“Got my second dose of COVID-19 vaccine at AIIMS today.
Vaccination is among the few ways we have, to defeat the virus.
If you are eligible for the vaccine, get your shot soon. Register on http://CoWin.gov.in.” PM Narendra Modi shared on Twitter.
