A cyclone-like storm lashed across Majuli and its neighboring areas, including parts of Jorhat, leaving massive destruction on its trail, with uprooted trees and electric poles.
In Majuli, the disaster management department informed that several houses were damaged with roofs blown away at Lahonaon, Gayangaon, Nikinikhuwa, Dakhinpat, Meragarh, Phuloni, Jogigaon, Salmora under Ujani Majuli Revenue Circle, and Sukansuti gaon under Majuli Revenue Circle due to last night’s storm that blew over the Majuli island at around 11.30 PM.
