Supari Mafia Shoot-out at Bongaigaon

Another incident of shoot-out took place at Bongaigaon. Burmese supari mafia Abdul Hanan was seriously injured in a police firing while he was trying to flee from custody on Tuesday’s wee hours.

According to the police, “Abdul Hanan, the supari mafia, was taken to Saparakata in relation to an investigation in the Burmese betelnut case when he allegedly snatched the service pistol from the possession of OC Bongaigaon Upen Kalita and tried to attack police to escape from custody.”

Meanwhile, accused Abdul Hanan was shot on his knees and was immediately sent to Bongaigaon civil hospital.

Soon after the incident the Bongaigaon superintendent of police, Swapnil Deka has reached the civil hospital.

Further investigations are on.
