“Thank You Modi Ji”- One Lakh Earthen Lamps Illuminates Majuli

People of Majuli, the world’s largest riverine island, on Friday, celebrated the foundation stone laying of the two-lane bridge between Majuli and Jorhat.

The island was lit up with celebrations in gratitude and affection. People showed their affection by lighting earthen lamps and setting off fireworks thanking PM Narendra Modi.

The bridge will provide easy and 24X7 access to the people living in Majuli town with the rest of Assam. It will be constructed by March 2025 at a cost of Rs. 925.47 crores.

Taking to Twitter, Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal said the Majuli bridge has opened new paths of progress for the people of Majuli.
“Sacred #Majuli lit up with celebrations in gratitude and affection. PM Shri Narendra Modi ji, your gift of the long desired Majuli bridge has opened new paths of progress for the people of the Bhaktipeeth. Proud. Thank you Modi ji,” CM Sonowal tweeted.

“Scenes of celebration from sacred #Majuli, as people of the river island district thank PM Shri @narendramodi for fulfilling their dream of the long desired Majuli bridge.” Assam CM Office Twitted.
