On Friday, Rajya Sabha Chairperson Venkainah Naidu suspended TMC MP Santanu Sen from the Upper House of the Parliament. Sen has been suspended for the remainder of the Monsoon Session after a motion moved by the government was passed by the House.
Sen was seen snatching papers from the hands of Union IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Thursday. Noticing the incident, Mr. Naidu said “Santanu Sen, please withdraw from House. Allow the House to function”.
The infamous Pegasus snooping row turned ugly after Sen snatched the papers from IT Minister Vaishnaw and tore them as the minister was about to make a statement on Pegasus. Mr. Naidu asked Sen to leave the house after the motion was passed.
