India’s Pooja Rani defeated Ichrak Chaib of Algeria 5-0 in the round-of-16 and advanced to the last 8 of the women’s middleweight (69-75kg) category. She won her bout against Ichrak Chaib of Algeria, with a convincing 5-0 scoreline.
Elsewhere in archery, India’s Deepika Kumari defeated Karma of Bhutan in the Round of 32, with a confidence-boosting 6-0 sweep. She went on to win her round-of-16 match as well, this time against US archer J. Mucino-Fernandez. It was a 6-4 thriller that saw her through to the quarter-final.
