Twitter on Saturday restored the blue verification badge in the personal account of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Chief Mohan Bhagwat.
The blue tick in the account of the RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat came hours after it was removed from his profile.
Twitter, the micro-blogging site also restored the verification badge of other key functionaries of the Sangh including Krishna Gopal, Arun Kumar.
A Blue verification badge on Twitter denotes that the profile of a person or an organization is authentic.
On Saturday, Twitter also restored the blue tick or “verified” badge on the personal handle of Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu hours after it was dropped.
The Indian government flagged the verification removal to the social media giant.
However, Twitter responded that it was done by the algorithm due to a long period of inactivity in terms of logging in. The vice president uses his official Twitter handle @VPSecretariat to send out tweets.
The last tweet posted from the vice president’s personal handle was on July 23 last year.
RSS Delhi state Executive Member Rajiv Tuli took to Twitter informing about the restoration of Blue Tick of the RSS Chief.

CAN TWITTER REMOVE BLUE TICK?
• Twitter may remove the blue verified badge and verified status of a Twitter account at any time and without notice.
• People may lose the blue tick or badge if they change their account name (@handle).
• If the account becomes inactive or incomplete.
• Twitter can also remove Blue Tick if they are no longer in the position they were initially verified for, such as – an elected government official who leaves office — and do not otherwise meet Twitter’s criteria for verification.
