Rahul Gandhi’s account was temporarily taken down last week after he tweeted pictures of the family of a nine-year-old victim of alleged rape and murder in Northwest Delhi.
On Friday, the former Congress chief made a strong flare accusing twitter of “interfering in the national political process” and said shutting down of his handle amounted to an “attack on the country’s democracy”.
Twitter accounts of some of the other party leaders who had shared the same pictures have been restored. Twitter notified it as a violation of its rules.
Rahul Gandhi in a YouTube video titled “Twitter’s dangerous game”, said that it was not an impartial and unbiased platform and was “beholden to the government”.
Gandhi further added that Twitter was refusing rights to opinion to millions of his followers. “It’s obvious now that Twitter is actually not a neutral, objective platform”. Rather it is a biased platform and does whatever the Government says.
