Smt. Violet Barua, IPS becomes the first lady Inspector General (IGP) of Assam Police. On 26th January she has been awarded with President Police Medal for her distinguished services. Expressing her happiness she tweets, “Promoted to the rank of IGP. Feeling blessed to be the first lady IGP in the state of Assam.”
Moreover, several other police officers have also been promoted today. Among them are Diganta Barah, Anand Prakash Tiwari and Debraj Upadhyay.
