The Assam Cabinet on Tuesday announced the issue of disputes between Northeast states especially Mizoram given that Mizoram police has built bunkers and camps along the border.
On July 24 all Northeast States Chief Ministers will meet in Shillong and then, he’ll discuss the issues of dispute resolution with the Chief Ministers, said Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma at a press conference here.
The Union Home Minister Amit Shah will come to Assam from where his meeting with Northeast CM Sarma will start and dispute resolution amongst NE states will most likely be a matter of concern. He will also inaugurate a Radiotherapy Wing in Guwahati Medical College and Hospital, distribute the Rs. 1 lakh cheques to families affected by COVID-19 under CM Covid-19 Relief Scheme along with laying the stone for Medical College in Tamulpur.
CM Conrad Sangma will meet Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma on July 23 to discuss and solve amicably the dispute between Assam and Meghalaya. A similar exercise will take place with Arunachal CM.
“Situation in Assam and Mizoram border is fragile. I don’t expect a solution for Assam-Mizoram very soon”, said Sarma.
