World NGO Day 2021: Its Significance, History and Theme

World NGO Day is observed every on February 27 to commemorate and collaborate with various NGOs around the world.
The theme, this year constitutes the list out of yearly achievements & contributions of NGOs which they have done for the sake of society.

The day honors the non-profit organizations and volunteers who give their time and resources to help make a difference.
World NGO Day aims to inspire people to become actively involved with NGOs.
It also aims to educate individuals worldwide on NGOs and their impact.
This day provides an opportunity to honor and remember NGO founders, employees, volunteers, members, and supporters.
The day aims to celebrate the success of more than Ten million NGOs worldwide.

NGOs have a history that dates to at least the late 18th century, they have always been at the forefront of social movements and changes.
Back in 2014, the 27th of February became a historic day for the NGO community worldwide. This international calendar day, now known as “World NGO Day,” was inaugurated for the first time internationally.

Taking to Twitter, Arunachal Government on the eve of World NGO Day Twitted,
“On the occasion of #WorldNGODay, let’s take a glimpse at the incalculable work of several NGOs around the world. They have served and still working as a shoulder for the unprivileged. We salute these humane samaritans of the world. Happy 6th #WorldNGODay.”

Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) Twitted,
“The world isn’t a perfect place, but it is a few good-hearted people who strive to improve it every single day. NGOs stand up for a cause and work on the field to bring in change. We salute these good samaritans of the world. #WorldNGODay #NGO”
