The girl who accused Zomato delivery agent Kamaraj of assaulting her has now been booked by the police for assaulting him first.
Zomato delivery agent Kamaraj has filed a complaint against Hitesha Chandranee at the same police station where she has registered a case against him on March 10.
The social media content creator, Hitesha alleged that she was attacked by Kamaraj. She also posted a video of herself with a bleeding nose on March 9. The very next day, the delivery agent Kamaraj was arrested and even Zomato placed him under suspension.
Kamaraj later claimed that it was Chandranee who attacked him first. He then filed a complaint with the police following which Chandranee was charged with assault, criminal intimidation, and intentional insult. He denied striking the woman and claimed it was Chandranee who verbally abused him, hit him with slippers, accused him of defaming her, and as such accidentally hurt herself.
He also claimed he had apologized to her and, after talking to Zomato, asked her to return the food but she refused.
However, in a video on March 9, which Chandranee has now deleted, claimed that she had placed an order through Zomato which was delayed. She then reported the delay to a customer care executive. But the delivery agent Kamaraj “hit” her and left leaving her “bleeding”.
The two different versions of the story have divided social media and are now under investigation.

After the delivery agent’s complaint, a case has been registered against the woman under various sections of the Indian Penal Code, including 341 (wrongful restraint), 355 (assault or criminal force with intent to dishonor person), and 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace).
Zomato has said it is supporting both the versions, pending investigations, and wants “both sides of the story to come to light”.
