“This is normal; Covid is not a cause for concern in Assam,”- Health Minister Himanta Bishwa Sharma made this statement infront of the media.
But he also stated that social distance should be maintained and everyone should wear masks.
However, a reverse scene was perceived on Thursday. There was no social distancing, no mask. In short, there was complete chaos and disorder.

The main reason for such was due to a Central Minister’s visit to Assam.
The normal life of people in Guwahati City was hit hard on Thursday.
The main reason for the problem faced by commuters in Guwahati city was due to scarcity of mini-city buses. And the scarcity of public bus service was due to the visit of Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
A majority of mini-city buses were booked for rallies due to the ‘dignitary’ Minister’s visit to Assam.

Since morning, thousands of commuters suffered the most as a majority of Guwahatians rely on city bus services for their daily chores.
Several commuters were seen relying on cabs and other bike services for their daily work.

It’s okay that the minister is visiting Assam, but that does not mean that the general public have to suffer for such.
