Union Home Minister Amit Shah will once again visit the poll-bound Assam.
The minister will be visiting the state on February 25 for the third time this year.
The central minister will visit Batadrava Than in Nagaon. He will formally inaugurate the construction work of the Batadrava project.
As per reports, it is speculated that the Union Home Minister will address a public meeting at the site.
Ahead of the Union Minister’s visit, Minister of State Urban Development Pijush Hazarika, Batadrava MLA Angoorlata Deka, Morigaon MLA Ramakant Deori, and Roha constituency MLA Dimbeshwar Das held an important meeting at Batadrava Than.
Earlier on December 25, Assam Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma compared Batadrava Than with the Golden Temple of Punjab.
“It is necessary to give a new dimension to Batadrava Than.” He further stated.
Earlier, Assam government has decided to give a new facelift to Srimanta Sankardeva’s birthplace Batadrava Than at a cost of Rs. 186 crores. PWD has already given tender notice for the construction work.
Construction work of Batadrava Than will begin as soon as Amit Shah lays the foundation stone.
The Union Minister has already visited BTR in the last few weeks and addressed rallies in Kokrajhar and Nalbari.
Last week, he visited Bongaigaon to meet Koch-Rajbonshi leader Ananta Rai.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is also likely to visit Assam on February 22.
As per initial reports, PM Modi will visit Bogibeel in Dibrugarh, Majuli, and Silapathar in Dhemaji. PM Modi is likely to lay the foundation stone of the bridge between Jorhat and Majuli.
PM Narendra earlier visited the state on January 25 in Sivasagar and February 7 in Dhekiajuli.
