Congress leader Rockybul Hussain while taking a dig at the state government at a press conference today, said that Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sharma does not dare to seek flood relief from the Centre.
Addressing a press conference at Rajiv Bhawan, Rockybul Hussain said, “The flood situation in the rural areas is not good. The way earlier we used to receive relief during floods is not the same anymore.
‘During floods, the Chief Minister is expected to request a relief package from the Central Government. But surprisingly, the Chief Minister announced that the state government has the money to help in the floods,” added Hussain.
“The government is about to borrow Rs 1,000 crore from the Reserve Bank but does not dare to seek flood relief from the Centre. Also, the government is already debt-ridden with more than Rs 1 lakh on its head,” added Hussain.
