Voting is underway for the Tiwa Autonomous Council (TAC) election amid tight security arrangements and following Covid-19 protocols.
Polling for 36 council constituencies in parts of Morigaon, Nagaon, Hojai, and Kamrup (Metro) districts began at 7:30 am on Thursday and will end at 4:30 pm.
A total of 124 candidates are in fray in the council election and a total of 3,08,409 voters will decide the fate of the candidates in ballot papers.
As per report by State Election Commission, 35% of voters have cast their votes till 12 noon.
Counting of votes will be held on December 19.
