CSK Bowler And Staff Members Tested COVID-19 Positive

CSK, IPL

Preparation of Chennai Super Kings (CSK) for the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) has run into complications. The complication emerged after a bowler and some staff members were tested COVID-19 positive. In the major development, at least 10 members of the IPL franchise were tested positive. This also included a current Indian limited-overs bowler.
The test result came a day after the CSK squad and staff members were tested on August 27 in Dubai.
Due to this reason, the team’s quarantine period is now till September 1.

According to reports, the entire team and staff members will undergo another COVID-19 test on August 28. This will be done to check the spread of the virus. The test result will come out on August 29.
As per the protocol directed by BCCI, all teams have to undergo three COVID-19 tests before starting practice.
On August 21, the CSK team and staff members reached the Emirates. Along with CKS, RCB and Mumbai Indians also arrived in the UAE on the same date.

The news is a massive setback to CSK. However, the MS Dhoni-led CSK held a brief training camp in Chennai before leaving for the UAE. The CSK was the only team to do so. MS Dhoni, Suresh Raina, Ambati Rayudu, Piyush Chawla, Deepak Chahar were also in the camp. Moreover, bowling coach L Balaji was also in the camp.
Some of the teams have already begun their practice. There will be about 60 games in around 53 days.
There are three venues in the UAE. The venues include Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Sharjah.
