India’s Neeraj Chopra has created history in the Tokyo Olympics 2020 by winning the Gold medal in Javelin Throw with the highest throw of 87.58 m. His best throw came in his second attempt out of the six.
This is India’s first Olympic medal in athletics after 100 years. The last medal came for the country in Belgium Olympics, 1920.
Neeraj Chopra has won India its seventh medal in Tokyo 2020. Earlier in the day, wrestler Bajrang Punia had won the bronze medal in the Men’s 65 kg category defeating D. Niyazbekov of Kazakhstan 8-0.
