The iPhone 14 was formally launched on September 7 during Apple’s Far Out event (Wednesday). The Cupertino-based tech giant’s latest iPhone 14 series includes the iPhone 14 and the new iPhone 14 Plus, both of which have a Super Retina XDR OLED display.
The display on the iPhone 14 is 6.1 inches, while the display on the iPhone 14 Plus is 6.7 inches. The iPhone 14 also includes crash detection.
Apple also announced the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max, both of which feature a changeable “notch” bubble. The iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max both boast thinner frames, a larger active area, and a “Dynamic Island.”
On September 9, the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus will be available for preorder. The iPhone 14 will be available on September 16, and the iPhone 14 Plus on October 7. Again, the new Apple Watch Series 8 has an improved gyroscope and accelerometer that can detect if you’re in a car crash.
The Series 8’s alleged car collision detection is powered by a new three-axis gyroscope and “high g-force” accelerometer that samples data four times faster than the previous generation (and up to 256 Gs of force). The Series 8 can detect crashes in most types of vehicles and automatically notify emergency contacts and services if the user does not respond within 10 seconds, according to Apple, by leveraging an algorithm running on the smartphone and the barometer.
The iPhone 14 costs $799, and the iPhone 14 Plus costs $899. The iPhone 14 Pro costs $999, while the iPhone 14 Pro Max costs $1099, with storage options ranging up to 1TB.
Buyers who trade in an eligible iPhone will also receive up to a $1,000 discount. Both models will be available for pre-order on September 9 and purchase on September 16.
In India, the iPhone 14 starts at Rs 79,900, and the iPhone 14 Plus starts at Rs 89,900. The iPhone 14 Pro is priced at Rs 1,29,900, while the iPhone 14 Pro Max is priced at Rs 1,39,900.
