Prime Minister Narendra Modi introduced 5G services on Saturday (October 1) at 10 AM in Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, ushering in a new technological era.
Continuous coverage, large data rates, low latency, and extremely dependable communications will all be made possible by 5G technology. According to a public statement, it will improve network, spectrum, and energy efficiency.
The sixth iteration of the India Mobile Congress will also be opened by the Prime Minister (IMC). The IMC 2022 will take place from October 1 through October 4 with the theme “New digital Universe.”
According to the announcement, it will bring together prominent intellectuals, businesspeople, inventors, and government representatives to explore and present the special prospects brought about by the quick uptake and diffusion of digital technology.

Recently, 5G spectrum auctions were successfully held, and Telecom Service Providers received 51,236 MHz with a gross revenue of Rs 1,50,173 Crores. The auction brought together the demand for a strong 5G ecosystem that can support its IoT, M2M, Al, Edge Computing, Robotics, etc. application cases.
Previously, the Department of Telecommunication had declared that 13 Indian cities — Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chandigarh, Chennai, Delhi, Gandhinagar, Gurugram, Hyderabad, Jamnagar, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, and Pune — would receive the first 5G service releases.
