The World Wide Web is essentially a medium that people can access through their computers that are connected to the Internet.

Tim Berners-Lee invented the World Wide Web in 1989 at the CERN centre in Geneva, Switzerland, as a way to communicate with coworkers using hyperlinks. In 1992, Berners-Lee uploaded the first image to the internet. It was from Les Horribles Cernettes, a CERN-founded parody pop band.
Following this, there was a significant increase in 1993. There were only 50 servers worldwide at the start of the year. However, by October of the same year, this number had grown to more than 500 servers. NetBoy and Doctor Fun were two of the first webcomics to emerge during this time period.
