Ahead of International Day of Yoga, Central Bureau of Communication(CBC), Regional office, Guwahati organised a two day long Photo exhibition cum outreach programme at Jnyanam Public School, Bajali.
The exhibition aims to create awareness among the people about the benefits of Yoga and encouraging people to adopt Yoga in their daily life. In this line a yoga session was organised where school students took part and practiced yoga.
Inaugurating the exhibition Ranjan Chakrabarty, Principal Bajali Higher Secondary school said that “ we must celebrate our rich heritage by making Yoga a part of our lives as it enriches our health &mind”. Prof. Das further said that the world wide acceptance of Yoga is a matter of pride for our country, as Yoga is an integral part of our cultural and spiritual heritage. Yoga is an ancient science of wisdom for living a healthy life and by adopting it in daily life, one can make life easy and simple, he added.
Khanin Das, Principal of Jnyanam Public school in his address said that, yoga is a big contributor for reducing stress in our lives and its regular practice is the step to a healthy and disease free life.He also appreciates the initiative of CBC Guwahati for organizing such programme at Bajali. He further said that through this kind of exhibition the young mass will be aware of the benefits of the Yoga.
Speaking on the occasion Mridul Kumar Kalita, Director Jnyanam Public school said that due to the modern lifestyle and stressful competition, people are leading an unhealthy routine. Yoga has a very special role in addressing all lifestyle related disorders and it will improves physical immunity.
Smt. Sucharita Sahoo Field Publicity Officer, CBC, Guwahati spoke about the aim and significance of the programme in her welcome address.
The two day exhibition showcases various informative photo panels on Yoga and its benefits. Various competitions on the theme of yoga including quiz, art were scheduled for the students in the two days event. The Private Registered troupe under CBC, Guwahati and school students performed many cultural programme on this occasion.
