The Indian Hotels Company Ltd, in collaboration with Tata Power, unveiled an electric car charging station here on Tuesday.
According to IHCL Area Director Jayanta Das, this is the first such facility in any Tata Group hotel in the northeast, and the firm aims to establish similar stations in other units as well.
While inaugurating the facility, Pollution Curb Board of Assam (PCBA) Chairman Arup Kumar Misra stated that additional similar charging stations are needed to control the state capital’s growing pollution level.
“We want to live in a clean and green environment. We must also meet the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030 “He stated.
The charging station is designed to accommodate four automobiles at once.
Owners of electric vehicles, including two-wheelers, must book slots through an app, and payments can be made online, according to the company.
